The File Migration
Consultant is primarily responsible for migrating files from Windows PCs and
Servers to Google Drive and Google Shared Drives. This role will need to
analyze existing file storage and security, work closely with the file owners
to create a migration plan, and then migrate the data to Google.
Requirements:
Analyze
file storage and security on existing Windows File Servers
Communicate
professionally and effectively with the data owners to create a migration plan,
update status, and obtain feedback
Address
any issues that arise due to the migration in a timely and professional manner
Bring
in other resources or teams to assist with escalations of issue when needed
Deep
technical knowledge of Windows security, Google Apps, PowerShell, and VBscript.
Create
change request tickets for all changes and confirm approval before any work is
started
Track
in detail the migration work from start to finish for each group of data
Qualifications:
Minimum
of 3 years of Server file security experience
Technical
knowledge of Windows Server file security, Google Drive, Google Shared Drive, Beyond Compare, and scripting. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Great
problem solving skills required
Ability
to play an active role in a strong, cohesive and collaborative team
Must
have strong customer service and ability to speak with all levels in the
organization
Possess
high level communication and organizational skills
