As a Data Scientist on the Monitoring Operations team, you'll be at the heart of OpenAI’s safety efforts, designing robust systems to monitor and mitigate abuse risks across new and existing products. About the Role:
In this role, you’ll:
Proactively Build Monitoring Systems: Collaborate with Product, Policy, and Engineering teams to establish monitoring for new product launches, addressing key risks and ensuring adequate data and tooling are in place.
Sustain Monitoring for Existing Products: Refine and automate existing monitoring processes, creating efficiencies that enhance product safety and response capabilities.
Respond to Critical Escalations: Actively manage escalations, particularly those not captured by existing safety systems, often requiring quick resolution in high-stakes situations.
Qualifications:
You could be a great fit if you:
- Have 4+ years of technical analysis experience, particularly in SQL and Python
- Are experienced in trust and safety roles, and enjoy working cross-functionally with policy, enforcement, and engineering
- Possess data engineering skills for building core tables and data pipelines
- Excel at scaling and automating processes, especially using language models
