About the Role:

YouTube is seeking a forward-thinking and innovative Product Manager for the Generative AI Safety team, dedicated to shaping the future of content moderation and user safety within our vast platform. As a Product Manager for Generative AI Safety, you’ll work at the intersection of technology and ethics, ensuring that AI systems are developed and deployed in ways that prioritize user well-being. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, researchers, policy experts, and stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions that enhance the safety, fairness, and integrity of YouTube’s content ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Innovation: Define and own the product roadmap for AI-driven safety features that address the challenges of content moderation, ensuring they’re scalable, efficient, and aligned with YouTube’s values.
• Shape AI Safety Frameworks: Work alongside data scientists, engineers, and policy teams to develop AI tools that detect and mitigate harmful content, bias, and misinformation within generative AI systems.
• Collaboration & Strategy: Partner with global trust and safety experts, engineers, legal teams, and external stakeholders to align product initiatives with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Measure Impact: Design and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of generative AI safety features, driving data-driven improvements and optimizing for user protection.
• Ethical Responsibility: Uphold YouTube’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity, ensuring AI systems are transparent, non-discriminatory, and adhere to ethical guidelines.
• Future-Proofing: Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI technology, privacy laws, and content safety practices to future-proof YouTube’s AI safety infrastructure.

What You Bring:

• Proven Experience: 5+ years in product management with a focus on AI/ML, safety technology, or content moderation. Experience in generative AI is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, or computer vision, and how these technologies can be applied to content safety challenges.
