Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, NC is seeking a board certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Hospitalist to help provide coverage for the Vidant North Hospitalist team. New providers will need to come in the day before scheduled start date for orientation.  NC DEA required

Coverage Needed: 8a8p

December 25th - 31st, 2020.  (8a8p)

 Highlights include: 

• Opportunity to work within a well-established healthcare system
• Inpatient only
• Call schedule: 1: Day shift physicians each take a 2.5-hour admission block, rotating the morning, afternoon and evening blocks daily. Any night call and/or admissions are covered by the physician working 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
• EHR for Vidant North is Meditech
• ACLS certification required
• Team includes 11 physicians
• Avg # of patients/day/provider: 15
• Avg # of admissions/day: 2-3/provider
• Avg # of admissions/night: 4-6
• Responsible for ICU/Critical Care duties
• Managing average of 12-15 patients daily
• Procedures – ability to manage patients on ventilators is required. Procedures welcomed, but not required.

Additional Information: 

Day shift – physicians each take a 2.5 hour admission block, rotating the morning, afternoon and evening admissions.  Daytime admissions per 3 hour block average 2-4 patients.

Night shift – call and or admissions are covered by the physician working 8p - 8a.  Night admissions average 3-6 patients.
