Summary: The System Administrator II functions as an expert
engaged in installing, configuring, and maintaining the infrastructure,
hardware, applications, and operating system software in support of company’s
business processing requirements. Helps develop, document, communicate and
enforce the company’s network technology policy.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- 3 – 5 years of experience with
Designs, installs, configures, and maintains essential IT operations
infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications,
servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Performs software installations and
upgrades to hardware and operating system software; maintains in accordance
with established information technology policies and procedures.
- Develops and promotes standard operating
procedures.
- Must have experience with VM environments
and Servers, Hyper- V preferred.
- Must have experience with 365/Azure
cloud/Intune
- Must have very strong System
Administrator II credentials.
- Monitors and tunes the systems to achieve
optimum performance levels.
- Ensures data and media recoverability by
implementing a schedule of system backups.
- Resolves complex procedural, operational,
and technical problems.
- Ensures the integrity of the
infrastructure hardware and operating system software.
- Provides recommendations regarding
hardware and system software planning and budgeting.
- Own projects, solutions, and key
responsibilities within a larger business initiative and communicates
project status, activities, and achievements with internal stakeholders
and external partners.
- Addresses and troubleshoots issues, sees
them through to resolution, and creates RCAs.
- Provides next level support for the Help
Desk team, works assigned trouble tickets/requests to resolution and
supports other System Administrators.
- Nurtures a dependable IT infrastructure
and network that is always available.
- Performs server administration tasks,
including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies,
print services, researching event log warnings and errors, and continuous
resource monitoring to ensure system architecture components work together
seamlessly.
- Monitor servers/systems health using
management tools and responds to hardware issues as they arise.
- Builds, tests, and maintains new servers
as needed.
- Interact with the help desk and other
teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide
technical support when needed.
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the
systems, including all backups.
- Expected to follow a change control
process.
- Expected to thoroughly document the
systems and infrastructure.
- Will take ownership and become the
subject matter expert (SME) on certain systems/applications/processes/vendors
within the infrastructure.
- Available to provide support outside
normal business hours to ensure 24/7 availability of services and
infrastructure.
- Responds to after-hours emergencies and
leads the mitigation and resolution processes.
- Maintains the company’s adherence to
technology requirements for security & privacy.
- Researches, develops, and implements new
technologies and best practices.
- Mentors team members and educates users.
- Performs other duties as outlined in individual
objectives.
- Complies with all company and
departmental policies and procedures.
- This position involves regular access to
specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited
to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
- Ability to use professional concepts, and
creativity to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrate ability to provide technical
leadership to others within the group as needed.
- Demonstrate ability to help define
technical requirements for current and future needs.
- Experience in developing solutions to
problems and follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing reported issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both
verbal and written required.
