Job Title: Akamai Administrator and Configuration Engineer

Location: Onsite - Onsite - Bothell, WA (or) Dallas, TX.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Akamai Administrator and Configuration Engineer to manage, configure, and optimize our Akamai solutions. This role combines administrative expertise with hands-on configuration and troubleshooting to ensure our content delivery, security, and edge computing services operate seamlessly. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align Akamai's capabilities with business needs, enhance performance, and maintain robust security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration:

-Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of Akamai services, including CDN, WAF, and Bot Manager.

-Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions within Akamai Control Center.

-Act as the primary point of contact for Akamai-related issues and coordinate with Akamai support for resolution.

-Maintain compliance with organizational policies and industry standards in Akamai configurations.

-Generate and analyze reports on Akamai usage, performance, and security incidents.

Configuration & Optimization:

-Design, implement, and maintain Akamai configurations, including caching policies, delivery rules, and edge configurations.

-Optimize web and application performance using Akamai tools such as Ion and mPulse.

-Configure security services such as Kona Site Defender, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Bot Manager to mitigate threats.

-Develop and automate configuration updates using Akamai APIs, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.

-Test and validate Akamai configurations in staging environments to ensure seamless deployment.

Collaboration & Support:

-Work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure Akamai configurations align with project requirements.

-Educate internal teams on Akamai best practices and provide documentation and training as needed.

-Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, applying continuous improvements to Akamai services.

-Participate in incident response, troubleshooting Akamai-related issues to minimize downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

-Strong understanding of Akamai products, including CDN, WAF, and edge computing.

-Proficiency in Akamai Control Center and APIs.

-Knowledge of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and DNS.

-Experience with web protocols like HTTP/HTTPS and TCP/IP.

-Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and automation tools.

Soft Skills:

-Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

-Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Certification in Akamai solutions or related technologies.

-Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

-Knowledge of security protocols and frameworks, including OWASP standards.
