Job Description:
- Participates in resolving service requests by collecting business, data, and system reporting requirements by interviewing stakeholders, identifying project scope, and acting as the liaison between cross functional teams.
- Documents data warehouse business rules for collection, aggregation, standardization and validation of data.
- Develops and thoroughly tests ETL packages per documented service request or data warehouse requirements/specifications
- Develops and prepares reports that efficiently and effectively fulfill the agreed upon requirements.
- Makes recommendations for or identifies appropriate data sourcing, relative to the system of record in order to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Conducts data profiling to understand data relationships, and recommends conforming logic.
- Conducts data modeling and maintains data models.Maintains templates for capturing metadata.
Skills and Abilities
- Leading software products and technologies pertaining to data warehousing and reporting.
- Knowledge of a variety of IT disciplines/technologies including: Databases, data modeling.
- Knowledge of database and data warehouse design concepts.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, with the ability to perform normalization and denormalization.
- Knowledge of ETL development in particular to MS SSIS platform.
- Knowledge of SQL Server Query development.
- Experience with a report development application, such as SSRS.
- Strong experience documenting technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences, make presentations and write technical specifications.
