Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities of this role, as an individual contributor will be to manage, maintain, and Engineer Linux-based systems for our highly-available, public-facing SaaS solution, as well as our internal DevOps environments
  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS
  • Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS
  • Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
  • Oversee DevOps Analytics backlogs
REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments, specifically within big data focused projects involving technologies such as S3, Spark, Scala, Data Pipelines, Redshift, DynamoDB and/or Aurora
  • 2+ years work on deployment to production of one of following Big Data Technologies (either of MapReduce, Hadoop, Pig, Apache SPARK, Apache STORM)
  • At least 10 years overall experience, including a minimum of 3 years in DevOps and 5 years of Linux systems administration in SW Development related environment
  • Ability to work with R-DBMS systems and being proficient with SQL design and query is a must
  • Prior experience in designing a live & released - big data analytics pipeline deployment is a must (at least 1 instance, where candidate must have architected/co-architected a big data pipeline)
  • 4+ years of design experience with large-scale Public Cloud production environments in either development or DevOps capacity, preferably as part of an online service provider environment (AWS, Azure, Rackspace)
  • Hands-on knowledge & prior project experience of at least 3 out of: Git/Jenkins/Code Deploy/Salt/Docker/Kubernetics/Amazon EMR/Amazon Kinesis/AWS Data Pipeline
  • Proven scripting and debugging in languages such as bash, perl, ruby, and/or python
  • Strong understanding of Internet technologies, including DNS, VPN, SSH/SSL, load balancing and security
  • A firm grasp of basic networking concepts including routing, subnets and firewalls
  • Strong Virtualization skills preferably on AWS or Azure
