Job Description:
- The Facility Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing a culture of quality awareness within the facility.
- The position is responsible for directing Quality Assurance & Quality Control programs for the Cheektowaga, NY site.
- Develop site Quality plans and goals to align with the global business unit and strategic plans.
- Monitor and develop suppliers to meet product requirements by working closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations team.
- Manage a robust quality system. Manage Quality Customer facing processes (Customer Care) such as complaint handling, quality declarations, surveys, data requests, warranty, etc.
- Manage Quality Control processes in the facility and at suppliers to insure product performance meets or exceeds customer requirements.
- In addition manages processes to include various agency certifications such as Department of Defense and Nuclear requirements (ASME Section VIII & Section III, Nuclear 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1, etc.)
- Introduce standards, policies, and processes required to elevate performance in line with industry, agency and customer expectations.
- As part of the Global Quality Management team, actively participate in setting strategic goals & annual objectives.
- Assume a leadership position for vital Quality processes such as Change Management, Material review Board & Complaint Handling.
- Strong collaboration with Key business partners to achieve business objectives: Operations, Engineering, Tech Service, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, IT, Procurement, etc.
- Continuously monitor field product performance and work with key functional leaders to improve skills, processes and tools.
- Guide the Quality team to understand, anticipate and satisfy highly demanding customer requirements and expectations.
- Insure Quality operators are certified, equipment is capable and test methods are robust to properly validate product.
- Develop the Quality team by performing talent reviews and development plans for key personnel.
- Facilitate data collection, analysis and metrics in line with various types and levels of Quality reporting.
- As assigned lead and manage key quality & improvement projects.
- Lead and/or participate in other projects within the organization as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent experience.
- 10 years plus of progressive experience through quality/technical organization.
- Experience in industrial and complex manufacturing.
- Proven track record of strategic planning and delivering results, extensive and successful interface with demanding customers-including visits, audits & presentations International experience with suppliers and internal factory network.
- Experience working with ASME, NRC, and DOD in the design and manufacture of products certified to these agencies.
- Quality profession certifications or similar credentials.
- Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of welding practices and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills are required.
- Strong short term and long term project management skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take a leadership role in group meetings and projects.
- Minimum Education Requirements BS/BA Degree or Equivalent
