  • Reporting directly to the Controller this role will lead all aspects of Technical Accounting, External Financial Reporting and Sarbanes Oxley Compliance.
  • This role will be instrumental in creating policies, processes, and procedures.
Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual external financial statements including Form 10-Q Form 10-K, Proxy Statement,
  • Earnings Releases, XBRL tagging and a registration statement.
  • Responsible for the compilation of financial statements, footnotes, managements discussion and analysis and all other components of the filings.
  • Design and Implement a SOX 404 Control environment. Create process flowcharts, document and design the control structure for all Bank departments.
  • Supervise and develop staff to aide in the SEC reporting function and support special projects.
  • Assist in providing technical expertise and leadership to the finance organization on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and PCAOB regulations.
  • Participate in accounting for and preparation of analyses related to areas including the allowance for loan losses, stock-based compensation, derivatives, investment securities, income taxes and various other complex accruals.
  • Help manage the audit process conducted by external auditors.
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements and supporting work papers for employee benefit plans.
  • Prepare various ad hoc schedules and projects.
  • Candidates will have a superior knowledge of MS Excel and strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Must be a team player and be deadline oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed during peak periods such as month-end close and quarter-end reporting.
Requirements:

  • For consideration candidates must be (or have been) at least a Manager out of the Big 4 or a large regional CPA firm.
  • CPA designation is required along with extensive experience with GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is highly preferred.
