Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Partners with the Business Committees, Users and IT teams to capture the business context
- Problem, current state, desired future state, objectives, business needs and impacted user groups.
- Develops requirements (business, user, and software requirements -- functional and non-functional) and establishing traceability of business and functional requirements in support the business vision.
- Draft Proposals based on Business needs for review by PMO management and presentation to Business users for approval.
- Manages the requirements through the project lifecycle by establishing and maintaining agreements between the customer and the project team.
- Plays a critical communications role by interacting with user (business domain) and with developers and testing personnel (technical domain).
- Works with the software development managers and business user(s) to define requirements stakeholders, requirements conflict resolution procedures and the requirements team structure.
- Ensures change control and change management procedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements.
- Responsible for selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Documentation Study and Surveys and overall Process Re-engineering.
- Tracks progress of documentation against milestone dates to ensure escalation and resolution of project challenges within the requirements phase.
- Evaluates and monitors requirements team capacity and team assignments.
- Participates in periodic meetings with business and IT partners to understand project priority and communicate availability to assign projects based on available team capacity.
- Coaches, mentors and supports less experienced Business Systems Analysts.
- Works with team leads to focus on team improvements for documentation, process, and methodology enhancements. Propose changes to leadership team to gain approval and determine action plan for implementation.
- Act as the Scrum Master on larger projects as requested to ensure timely and accurate completion of planned work.
- Other duties as assigned by IT Leadership.
- 5+ years of BSA experience in a technical delivery environment required
- Bachelor"s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field (or Equivalent Experience)
- 3+ years of experience managing/mentoring direct reports.
- CSPO or similar certification highly desirable.Familiar with agile management tools such as Team Foundation Server.
- Experience within, and understanding of, all phases of the SDLC required.
- Understanding of Project Management principles is necessary.
- Understanding of relational database models (SQL is a plus).
- The ability to create technical documentation (including Visio documentation of overall business solution) required.
- Proven excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.
- Ability to pick up technology and articulate technology in technical and business terms.
- Able to work in a hands-on role that requires a proactive team leader with the ability to be highly organized and detail-oriented, while coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical ability and enjoys solving customer requirements.
- Strong relationship building skills desired.
