- Seeks an experienced, positive leader and superb manager to direct its accounting operations.
- The Director of Accounting Operations is responsible for the overall performance of sixty accounting staff, work closely with the
- Client Managers (CFOs), Lead Controllers and Senior Accountants to accomplish this task.
- This key position is responsible for supervising consistent accounting processes and practices across client teams, ensuring internal controls and compliance, recruiting and training accounting staff, onboarding new clients, and directing the implementation of upgrades of accounting information technology.
- The Director of Accounting Operations must have a strong orientation to managing and implementing continuous process improvements.
- The Director of Accounting Operations is a key member of the executive management team and must play a leadership role in this dynamic and growing company.
- As a key member of the executive management team at , the Director of Accounting Operations will be responsible but not limited to:
- Supervise and manage accounting teams in the US and India.
- Supervise the firms entire accounting operations and accounting activities performed by our contracted India based staff and US staff.
- Develop, implement and standardize accounting practices for all accounting activities.
- Develop and oversee protocols and key management indicators for the review of clientsâ?? monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Provide technical accounting direction to staff and clients
- Review complex entries, other required journal entries and adjustments for accuracy and completeness
- Create system(s) to ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP, FASB and GASB and coordinate successful completion of annual fiscal audit(s), OMB 133, tax returns, etc., with outside independent auditors
- Identify technology and staffing solutions including the integration of offshore staff resources to improve quality and analysis
- Develop, implement and review corrective actions when necessary to address quality and timeliness issues
- Maintain the monthly calendar and checklist of due dates for financial statements and contracts deliverable.
- Manage workflow and communication among departments and assist with problem solving to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Independently solve problems and execute basic process improvements
- Supervise the Director of Accounts Payable to assure a high level of internal control, that transactions are processed efficiency and that the AP team provides exemplary customer service
- Perform final review of monthly financial statements and corresponding variance analyses.
- Review and or prepare other required client reports required by outside entities
- Conduct staff trainings and semi-annual staff performance reviews
- Assist senior management with special projects
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting and management.
- Experience in external audit preparation and coordination required.
Problem Solving:
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Work well in group/individual problem- solving situations
Supervisory Background:
- Supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate staff, work effectively with colleagues and report upstream effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP13, the core general ledger system used at ; advanced MS Excel and MS Office skills.
