Job description
- The Marketing Manager, Digital/Social is responsible for creating extraordinary online experiences for our customers and promoting the brewery through engaging and relevant communication.
- Manage all online marketing including social media and web site.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for crafting and institutionalizing communication and social media strategies, ensuring alignment with overall Marketing department goals as well as corporate strategic objectives.
- Lead the hiring, training, and performance management of assigned staff.
- Responsible for creating extraordinary online experiences for our customers and promoting the brewery through engaging and relevant communication.
- Define social /digital team goals and regularly track progress.
- Establish and maintain annual content strategy and calendar, planning around priority marketing initiatives and filling gaps where needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with peers to ensure voice consistency across marketing disciplines. Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
- Monitor social trends and platforms, and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Lead team in content creation, curation, scheduling of posts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest, Tumblr. Engage with fan comments on appropriate platforms
- Responsible for ongoing digital and social analytics.
- Ability to use learnings to optimize efforts (targeting, content, etc.).
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
- Develop, evaluate and oversee the implementation of A/B testing protocols and procedures.
- Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
- Responsible for social listening - monitor conversations and share learnings with marketing team.
- Complete oversight of DeschutesBrewery.com.
- Maintain & update all aspects of the web site regularly. Lead SEO consultant to optimize site.
- Responsible for Blog and Newsletter. Establish strategic role for blog and newsletter in overall communications
- Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners.
Position Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other related field.
- 5+ years experience in a similar role.
- Proven ability to work effectively across departments, manage budgets, and create annual strategic plans.
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
- Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Simply Measured, Omniture, WebTrends).
- Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas).
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Should be exceptionally organized and capable of balancing multiple priorities at once.
- Must have excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and relationship building skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess a strategic marketing mindset.
