Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert in the mobile space. Works with the Applications Director in defining and implementing mobile strategy (including environmental scan, SWOT analysis, and recommendations).
- Actively looks for ways to expand the business use of mobile devices.
- Be aggressive in staying ahead of developments in the mobile space and identify new solutions we should be considering for lawyers and administrative staff.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the way lawyers work, and participates in training both lawyers and operational staff.
- Ensures the ongoing education and awareness of the tools currently supported.
- Owner of all mobile productivity apps.
- Researches updates, manages vendor relationships, understands product roadmaps, etc.
- Understands each, how they work together and how lawyers use them.
- Demonstrate ownership of all mobile applications available in the Paul Weiss environment.
- Stay ahead of updates, be aware of new enhancements to existing applications and competing solutions.
- Make recommendations based on this information.
- Develops and owns the workflow around the evaluation and testing of new mobile hardware and software.
- This includes enterprise and productivity apps delivered through the Firm's supported MDM solution, custom developed applications, iOS and Android updates, new devices and peripherals.
- Makes formal recommendations on their use.
- Coordinates with individuals in other departments as needed for the purpose of testing new offerings and updates, drafting communications, security reviews, training and support.
- Leads regular meetings with key individuals around new technologies, updates and issues.
- Plays a key role in defining and supporting access to SharePoint resources on mobile devices.
- Expands mobile capabilities around document creation and management.
- Works with support vendors and carriers to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Reports outages and monitors until resolution.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a similar technical role for a fast-paced legal environment required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, Firm personnel at all levels and outside parties, through written documentation, personal meetings and by telephone.
- Ability to excel in managing attention to detail and multiple requests in the area of configuration and support/troubleshooting.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively complete designated job assignments under significant time and supervisory pressure.
- On site during designated working hours and available as necessary before or after designated working hours to work at the firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the firm.
- During pilot testing of new mobile applications, expected to be reachable via cell phone and mobile device off hours and on weekends.
- Ability to engage in off-site travel as required from time to time, in order to meet the demands of the job, and the needs of the firm.
