Job Description:
Working in conjunction with the Director, is responsible for accurate and timely administration of core and supplemental benefits.
Primary Job Duties
- Provides day-to-day direction to Benefit staff to ensure timely and accurate benefit administration in accordance with plan descriptions, plan documents and local, state & federal laws.Assures more than very good customer service is being provided by Benefit team during all available work hours.
- Designs and implements processes to ensure effective benefit administration using the Lawson HR payroll and benefit systems.
- Manages Lawson system initiatives related to HR Benefits in conjunction with HRIS.
- Performs regular and comprehensive audits to include missed deduction reports, BN 100, BN 102. Identifies and resolves problems.
- Handles employee/customer concerns of the most serious in nature. Works with Benefit team to develop tactics for problem resolution and skill development. Resolves and handles escalated employee concerns and issues with benefit vendors.
- Oversees the Benefit team administrations of all leaves programs to ensure efficiency of process and consistency in administration.
- E nsures Benefit packages are in compliance with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA and HIPAA programs.
- Prepares monthly premium payments by benefit/vendor. Ensures only active participants are included for premium payment. Maintains accurate records to support payments.
- Responsible for new employee Benefit Orientation with assistance from assigned Benefit Representative(s). Develops and keep current presentation materials. Prepares other benefit related communication tools for employees for Open Enrollment, benefit statements, etc.Manages communications and educational programs regarding benefit programs and plan changes.
- Manages Annual Benefits Open Enrollment including employee communications, informational meetings, required reporting and analysis changes (process flows).
- Coaches, trains evaluates the Benefits staff.
- Processes pension applications, assists with audits, and prepares annual valuation for the pension plan. Works with active employees by providing information, options and estimates to facilitate informed decisions.
- Working with the Director and Benefit Analyst, will source and secure a comprehensive, competitive and cost conscious benefit package (annually) using historical data, benchmarking, cost analysis and best practices.
- Partners with Director to develop and manage annual benefits budget and track monthly expenses
- Effectively demonstrated the Standards of Conduct of everyday in everyway.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Specifications
Education:Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management or related field.
Licensure / Certifications:PHR/SPHR preferred.
Experience:Two to five years HR experience with emphasis on benefits administration.
