Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weekly/Biweekly payroll processing for multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal, state and local wage and hour laws. Review output to confirm accuracy of data.
- Review of all changes entered in the database by field HR Reps and Managers. Enter other HR related changes on a timely basis for processing payroll.
- Final review of employee timecards with a focus on accurate hour calculation including overtime and PTO, entering corrections for prior periods and correcting missing punches.
- Using established earnings and deductions codes and other factors that are consistent across .
- Contact Payroll/HRIS Administrator to implement any new codes or changes to current system.
- Review and process any payroll tax notifications. Contact the payroll processor as needed.
- Review and process garnishments received for associates in accordance with federal and state laws. Establish new garnishment payees as needed.
- Create closing payroll reports as required for accounting for processing.
- Create periodic state reports, on a monthly or quarterly, as compliance requires.
- Interact with HR Reps and managers on documents submitted to insure the information is accurate and within the guidelines.
- Review and process invoices for employee benefits. Update benefit websites as needed for employee changes not included with weekly file feeds to maintain accurate coverage.
- Update benefit arrears to record payments, as needed for employees on LOA to maintain eligibility.
- Update COBRA enrollment with vendors and maintain COBRA enrollments in HRIS system for changes on a semi monthly basis from vendor reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate??s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
- Minimum of 5-7 years payroll related experience in a multi-state payroll department.
- Expanded knowledge of Ultimate Software or similar HRIS technology
- Proficient use of MS Office programs (including Excel)
- Experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Prior system conversion experience, a plus
