Job Description:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Integrate and communicate the overall procurement strategy
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations of agreements with our legal team and owns contractual process to reach final approvals
  • Acts as the liaison between internal and external partners to solve operational, contractual, legal, product, and functional challenges.
  • Develop and control the supply base to drive lowest total cost of ownership
  • Develop and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRâ??s) for all commodities
  • Evaluate supplier processes and monitors supplier performance to obtain lowest total supply chain costs and best overall product line offering.
  • Crafts and maintains various reports and analyses in support of internal business owners and key stakeholders
  • Supports Finance to assure timely resolution of payment issues and accurate tracking of productivity projects.
  • Participate and support the Global Procurement team as an active member.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts to optimize supply, terms and conditions, and contract prices
  • Implement best industry practices within the organization and the supporting supplier base
  • Conduct periodic audits and capability assessments to identify trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency of operation
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering to monitor, measure, and improve supplier quality
  • Manage supply chain performance and report monthly performance results, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Establish supplier scorecards and document supplier development plans
  • Collaborate with engineering to help develop and implement supply chain strategy during new product introduction
  • Facilitate the coordinated effort of collecting trend data in the areas of supply and market stability to proactively develop risk mitigation strategies/solutions.
  • Continually assess and develop the supply chain teamâ??s skill set and training to ensure appropriate resources are in place to support the strategy and team professional development.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Junior Buyers, Buyers and Senior Buyers. Will have matrix responsibility for Sourcing, Supplier Quality and Tier One Support.

Education And/Or Experience

  • Bachelora??s degree in a business or technical discipline, or possess the equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate Degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of related experience from within a manufacturing or purchasing environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess sound knowledge of ERP Systems and Material Requirement Planning.
  • Specific knowledge in the areas of planning and purchasing methods and procedures, and techniques of specification and contract writing.

  • Excellent relationship and influencing skills

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

CPM and / or CPIM certification.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to utilize a personal computer and related business software including, but not limited to, spreadsheet, word processor and relational database software.
  • Ability to manage and utilize an automated sales order entry system.
