Job Description:
Responsibilites:
- You are passionate about distributed applications and databases, especially in the context of solving large-scale, real-world problems.
- Be versed in Amazon Web Services cloud solution, architecture, related technologies and their inter-dependencies/ zoning in public/private clouds.
- Work on the scalability, resilience, and efficiency of backend components. Build systems, libraries, and frameworks within, around, and on top of back-haul and real-time messaging systems.
- Debug runtime problems and understand the interactions between systems.
- Help build and manage a global deployment of large, rapidly growing, high-load systems.
- Configuration management and automation using tools like Puppet and Chef.
- Optimizing backhaul processing of large and complex models and modeling data sets for algorithm development.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Code using Java, Python, JVM scripting languages, Perl, among others.
- Thinking strategically about uses of data and impact on business processes and how usage interacts with system design.
Experience and Skills:
- SysOps
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Experience with routers and firewalls. Experience with L2/L3 switches
- In-depth knowledge of WAN technologies (T1, E1, T3, E3, STM, SONET and Metro)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostics and analytics tools
- Working knowledge of MPLS protocol, UNIX and Linux operating systems
- In-depth knowledge of IP V4 and V6
- Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies
DevOps
- Proven hands-on experience automating the process of software delivery and infrastructure changes
- Experience architecting and implementing Amazon Web Services infrastructure and topologies. Knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, SE, etc.)
- Languages like Perl, Bash, C#, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Shell, XML, JSON, etc.
- Monitoring tools like Nagios, Munin, Zenoss, etc.
- Release management tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins)
- Run-time nosql standards like Kafka, HDFS, Hive, HBase, Couch. Some familiarity with relational stores like Teradata, Redshift and MySql
- Youâ??ve achieved previous success in a performance-critical environment, and can accelerate that success within technical team
- You have worked with various Hadoop based technologies. You are primarily interested in running large infrastructure and not just writing Hadoop Map/Reduce jobs
- Track record of building and supporting high-performing infrastructure teams
- Autonomous vehicle, e-commerce, social media, cyber-security, or other high-scale algorithmic system experience is advantageous
