Job Description

  • The Quality Assurance Inspection Supervisor is a technical position that is responsible for the incoming and MRB inspection programs at the site.
  • This position will include evaluating and implementing improvements to the site inspection program, performing inspection activities on incoming materials/components, and daily oversight of MRB inventory locations and personnel.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision, oversight and technical leadership to the inspectors on-site.
  • Review and improve site inspection program related to medical device inspection requirements,
  • implementing appropriate statistical methodology to inspection plans.
  • Evaluate inspection and test equipment in the incoming inspection/MRB process and implement
  • improvements where needed.
  • Perform incoming inspection of supplier manufactured materials and perform material transaction upon completion of inspection activities.
  • Perform material transactions upon completion of inspection activities.
  • Prepare and develop inspection instructions and procedures.
  • Generate supplier non-conforming material reports as necessary.
  • Accountable for maintaining a high level of performance and productivity within the department.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline and
  • 3-5 years of experience in the medical device industry related to Quality Assurance inspection programs and Quality System activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, prints, and specifications
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and problem solving tools.
  • Experience with scientific instrumentation in a design and manufacturing environment a plus Computer proficiency with background in Agile and SAP business information systems a plus
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize activities, and support the achievement of department performance goals, objectives, and metrics.
  • Proficiency using conventional handheld inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gage blocks,etc.), tensile testers (Instron type), torque testers, and other related tools.
