Job Description:
What will your essential responsibilities include
- Leading the identification of and championing projects to introduce relevant new external sources of data for deeper insights.
- Building a digital ecosystem with Big Data, AI, and Machine Learning functionality.
- Collaborating with Enterprise Data team, Business Stakeholders, and Global Technology teams to drive best practice in the creation, structure, storage, movement and usage of data at
- Ensuring data is structured and stored so it can be leveraged in the broadest way across the organization, and by external parties and customers.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams of business, data and technology professionals to resolve data issues and quantify the benefit and ROI.
- Driving strategic discussions and decisions on how to manage our data asset to leverage our strategic direction in the insurance industry.
- Identifying the impacts and implications of gaps and weaknesses in our data?? enabling us to prioritize and focus on what will help us strategically shift fast, fast forward.
- Developing, communicating and governing standards and architecture patterns to maximize our data asset and mentor teams in their application.
- Researching new technologies and architectures to understand the implications for data and educate the Company on the implications.
- Collaborating closely with our Chief Data Officer and Global Data leadership team in crafting and operation alizing global, strategic objectives.
- Managing special projects and initiatives as identified by the Chief Data Officer.
- In this role, you will report directly to our Chief Data Officer. Location is flexible.
We a??re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- 15+ years in end-to-end data environments with 3+ years in SPARK, HADOOP, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc.
- 10+ years of experience in all aspects of data architecture, including strategy, data governance, quality, master data management, data modeling, data lineage, business intelligence and data analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the value of data architecture in written and verbal format to business leaders and technical teams to change behavior and culture.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the impact of processes and systems on data and work with partners to design holistic solutions to solve business problems across organizational and geographical boundaries
- Strong knowledge of the impact on data architecture of current and emerging data technologies including big data, IoT, No SQL databases, and streaming technologies.
- Experience of agile processes and cutting edge development methodologies and tools.
- Exposure to taxonomies, on tologies and frameworks relevant to the Insurance Industry (e.g., XBRL, ACORD, WAND and Industry specific frameworks).
- Ability to understand the business data critically and problem solve as it relates to complex business concepts and processes.
