Position Description:

  • The Business Intelligence Team Leader will report to the Sr. Director of Data Services.
  • A Team Leader leads a focused team of technology professionals to deliver sound technical solutions.
  • The team leaders most important clients are their team and the people they serve.
  • They provide the tools and training to help the team succeed and grow.
  • The team leader will collaborate with senior technology leaders, and peers from across the business to facilitate the communication between the business and their team to help set and follow through with the priority project.
  • They assist the senior technology leaders to orchestrate the execution of the teams project delivery and strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • A Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management and basic leadership of the Business Intelligence Team.
  • In this role, the leader will focus on using their technical expertise to achieve quarterly team goals, deliver projects in quality manner, and assist the senior technology leaders to grow and develop team members.
  • This team leader should understand and live culture.
  • They will also demonstrate a passion to learn about our business, the technologies that we use and explore new technologies.

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Research newer or better technologies (including but not limited to Hadoop or other BIG data platforms) to make our Business Intelligence Platform better from an engineering (design and development), auditing, data quality and performance standpoint
  • Help orchestrate solutions to proactively exposing areas of opportunity and providing strategic solutions to the problem.
  • Create standards for ETL processes, storage and data exchange and make sure that the standards are enforced

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience with Data Warehousing (Kimball and other methodologies) and Performance concepts
  • 5+ years working with a OLAP database (SQL Server preferred)
  • 5+ years working with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS or similar tools
  • 5+ years working with various Business Intelligence tools
  • 5+ years in evaluating, researching and implementing various database structures, algorithms, best practices and auditing mechanisms.
  • 2+ Years leading Business Intelligence Team or equivalent
  • Solid experience with change control and agile methodologies
  • A passion for efficiency, stability and creativity
  • Strong Performance Tuning experience
