Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- The Business Intelligence and Research Specialist will prepare discrete analysis projects involving data for various practice areas and departments, including providing answers for RFP's and proposals.
- Other duties will be to develop customized data solutions for the research team, Business Development Department and individual practice areas;
- Collect and prepare internal information needed to respond to various external surveys and requests; conduct research for projects related to client profiling,
- Current awareness, recruiting and strategic initiatives; support the firm's client interview and key client visit program by providing relevant data and other administrative assistance;
- Create and update spreadsheets that detail the firm's competitive environment, client base, and industry opportunities. Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum three years plus experience doing research in a professional services environment required
Competencies
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to recognize data and calculation inconsistencies, anomalies, and to troubleshoot accordingly is a must.
- Intermediate Excel skills including the use of functions, pivot tables and sorting/filtering desired.
- Knowledge of the following research tools is preferred: West law (including Monitor Suite and West law Watch), Capital IQ, ALM Research Online, Docket Navigator, Bloomberg, and general website research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of basic business, accounting, and financial reporting concepts, and knowledge of or experience in the legal industry very helpful.
