Role:Network Administrator (server)

Location: Pittsfield, MA

Key Job Requirements

  • Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union while performing all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines and Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Configures and administers servers, networking, storage systems, data backup, and third-party applications including installation, debugging, user interface, and upgrades. Works with business partners and third party vendors to promote changes that are warranted.
  • Executes system and network support, in a diverse environment of complex systems design. Troubleshoots any issues with hardware and software to determine the cause of the problem. Implements solutions to resolve issues.
  • Reviews error logs and event logs and takes appropriate action when necessary.Meets network performance standards. Has shared responsibility for resolving system outages and penetrations.
  • Researches technology (hardware and software) available to meet needs of the Credit Union. Makes purchasing recommendations to Manager. Maintains records to insure accurate vendor payments, software license reconciliation, software version control, and asset control. Writes and maintains documentation of installation procedures.
  • Assists other Information Systems employees in achieving department goals.

  • Encouraged to actively represent the Credit Union in local civic, community and professional organizations.

Position Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent in coursework and training.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Environment preferred, including but not limited to, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Server, SQL Server, Exchange, Office and Desktop Operating Systems.
  • Must have knowledge of network standards, protocols, topology, and convergence technology concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Network Environment, Cisco/NetApp/Vmware Environment, and Virtual Server Environment in a high availability configuration, specifically VMware, preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of NetApp SAN/NAS and Linux preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver\'s license in order to work offsite at various branches as needed.
  • Able to effectively juggle multiple priorities and work any hours, including evenings and weekends, required to keep critical systems performing.
