Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Determines demand for direct materials using projected material requirements in ERP system, historical data and other tools and places purchase order for this demand.
  • Maintains and accurately updates purchase order changes, tracking of acknowledgements, status of orders and reports late orders to interested parties.
  • Identifies and works with necessary parties on any bill of material issues.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy of raw materials, which may include cycle counting.
  • Adheres to inventory turns and days on hand targets.
  • Owns and manages cardboard Kanban process to ensure inventory levels are at optimum level.
  • Proactively communicates as necessary regarding status of outstanding orders as well as discrepancies with quality, quantity and pricing.
  • Run, review and act upon daily material monitoring reports as needed.
  • Coordination of purchasing efforts with Production Scheduler.
  • Disposition of open supplier invoices when necessary.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures and report all unsafe conditions to management.
  • Participation in special projects and other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have demonstrated planning and organizational skills, ability to problem solve and effective communication skills.
  • Competency in ERP (preferably IQMS), MS Office applications and MS Outlook are essential.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor??s Degree in supply chain management or related field, or 5 plus years?? experience in material/supply chain planning or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • APICS certified, preferred but not required.
