Job Description

  • This position is responsible to provide leadership and direction to Enterprise Data Services team.
  • Manage daily operations of leading creative approaches to problem solving, as well as the development of quality deliverables, supporting Enterprise Data Architecture strategic initiatives.
  • Must be able to build relationships and trust with peers, business partners and team staff members.
  • Responsible to develop and implement systems to meet the information reporting needs of the business including Data Warehouse.
  • Establish and implement standards and practices to ensure the highest degree of data architecture, integrated business intelligence, KPI definition, analytical tools, and techniques.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure processes are executed such that customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Recruit and hire high potential staff, evaluating staff performance, and provide regular feedback using formal and informal meetings.
  • Ensure staff meets or exceeds expectations in regards to performance, meeting defined metrics/benchmarks, and that standards and processes are followed to provide effective customer service.
  • This position is responsible to ensure the development and execution of architectures, policies, practices and procedures in order to manage the data in the Enterprise data services of the organization in an effective manner.
  • Lead Enterprise Data Management operational and strategic planning, providing technical recommendations for optimized data access and retentions, identify strategy for data acquisition and archival. Implementing the use of Informatica.
  • Build relationship and trust with peers, business partners, and team staff members.
  • Provide oversight for the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, build, upgrade, and support of all Enterprise Data Management components.
Define roles and Responsibilities.

  • Ensure team members understand their jobs and how performance will be measured.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide regular feedback. Reward, coach and discipline staff in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Recruit and hire high potential staff, evaluating staff performance, and provide regular feedback using formal and informal meetings.
  • Ensure staff meets or exceeds expectations in regards to performance, meeting defined metrics/benchmarks, and that standards and processes are followed to provide effective customer service.
  • Align staff work plans and goals with the established overall strategies for the department and provide oversight to ensure goals are met by managing project assignments and workflow.
  • Ensure data projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve data issues to meet customer satisfaction, while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide financial oversight for owned goods and services.
  • This includes management of operating expense tied to contract labor, maintenance and licensing, as well as demand management and capacity planning for software products.
  • Ensure budgetary goals are met across all accounting categories (e.g., licensing and maintenance, hosted services, non-capitalized hardware and software, etc.).
  • Promote and manage a productive work environment and ensure staff are fully engaged.
  • Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Work with and help develop team members in areas of training and future job opportunities. Ensure team members possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to support IS services.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience

  • Eight years of data management experience.
  • Five years of technology management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of data governance, data quality, master data management, data warehousing architecture, data integration and data analytics.
  • Experience with data management tools, including Informatica, Microsoft SQL suit, Oracle data tools and SAP Business Objects. Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Preferred Experience

  • Health care experience. ITIL Certification
