Job Description & Responsibilities
- We are seeking a dynamic and professional Sr. Level Design Engineer experienced in complex, high-speed digital hardware designs, who enjoys multi-tasking in a fast paced, fun and uniquely empowering environment.
- In this position, you will be focused on full life cycle design and development of networking and computing appliances for a wide array of customer specific applications.
- Technologies to be supported will include Intel IA/x86 and ARM embedded architectures, numerous networking standards, and mechanical integration for enclosures and multi-board system design.
- Work will be project driven, sometimes in a team environment and sometimes individual based, but always requiring direct interface with our customer.
- The Design Engineer is expected to self-manage his project work and may handle multiple projects concurrently.
- You will play an active role in customer proposal generation, requirements planning, customer expectation management, solution delivery, and problem resolution.
Job Requirements:
- A successful applicant will have a minimum of a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and at least 10 years of experience in embedded computer design.
- A strong understanding of the complete custom PCB development flow from capture through layout, simulation and verification is required.
- Direct experience with PCB layout (Mentor Expedition), parasitic extraction and physical verification would be a significant plus. Knowledge of, or experience with FPGA/CPLD programmable logic is a plus.
- Experience with some scripting or programming is required.
- Experience with Linux including driver integration and modification would be significant plus.
- Basic 3D mechanical modelling skills are also a plus.
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Good presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
- Candidate must enjoy working with customers and in a team environment.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Education & Key Knowledge Areas:
- EE or CE Degree required; advanced degree desired
- 10+ Years hands onâ? high-speed digital circuit design experience
- Experience interfacing directly with customers for requirements definition and with manufacturing for component selection and prototype build.
- Demonstrated understanding of sound EDA product development lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or other EDA tools
