Role:VP of Technology

Location:Los Angeles, CA

Responsibilities include:

• Direct and manage full lifecycle of application development
  
• Drive IT engineering solutions and Waterfall to Agile transformation
  
• Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis, and Object-oriented Analysis and Design
  
• Recruit, manage and coach development team and continually review the work product to insure the highest standards in code quality, performance, security and overall delivery to requirements
  
• Exercise best practice in technical project management
  
• Build and maintain staffing model to include internal staff and outsourced efforts
  
• Develop structured, robust and documented processes and procedures
  
• Assist in development of test plans for user acceptance testing
  
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision
  
• Define long term strategic technology and process roadmaps
  

Requirements:

• 7-10+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical project management
  
• Experience with structured programming languages (especially Python and Java)
  
• Experience with common intelligence tooling from big data stores, cloud platforms, Python and machine learning frameworks
  
• Experience in architecture design, site/application optimization, recovery strategies and implementation of high availability infrastructure
  
• Experience building and delivering Cloud Services (especially SaaS)
  
• Experience leveraging third party Cloud Service Providers (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  
• Experience in data warehousing and high performance computing environments
  
• Expert knowledge of database modeling and data structure principles, techniques and best practices
  
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and different programming paradigms
  
• Experience leading a software development team with both technical expert and metrics-based approaches
  
• Previous experience managing vendors, both domestic and off-shore
  
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience
  
• Demonstrated leadership experience
