Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, introduce and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manager Corrective & Preventative Action process designed to prevent quality exceptions.
  • Develop and deploy statistical process control system.
  • Manage inspection processes in all areas of operations.
  • Drive quality certification processes, with duties to include maintaining effective documentation control and change control process, ensuring company remains current on all quality certifications and seeking out new certifications for company to qualify to.
  • Work with Purchasing Manager to manage vendor qualification process.
  • Manage customer quality qualification and respond to customer requests for documentation.
  • Develop and implement metrics designed to measure quality system.
  • Prepare and present data pertinent to companys quality system.
  • Work with Executive Management to design quality development strategy, including training.
  • Work with Human Resources to develop and deploy companys training program and maintaining employee training records.
  • Have an action-oriented approach, with a sense of urgency and responsiveness in solving problems and meeting the business needs.

Competitive Candidates Will Have

  • Five or more years of relevant experience, with at least one year in a leadership role.
  • General management experience with supervisory duties.
  • Five years of fabrication experience, specifically with cutting and forming mild steel, stainless, and aluminum and quality duties pertinent to these materials.
  • Bachelors degree in quality, engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement quality initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience building, or helping to build, a scalable quality system.
  • Experience training individuals to a quality system and managing accountability measures.
  • Experience applying quantitative reasoning to quality issues through statistical process control.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with production technology, quality systems (ISO 9001:2008, QS 9000) and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
  • Ability to communicate and present clearly and effectively to both internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, including Windows based software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Epicors Vantage and IQS software a plus.
