Assists in the preparation of and manages Clinical Operations budgets and provides visibility to financial targets
Participates in the monthly closing process, including validation of project accruals, fees and services accruals, journal entry booking and preparation of various account analyses; Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Provides monthly commentary to explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts; Tracks and analyzes spending for all projects to ensure adherence to latest forecast
Develops, maintains and publishes monthly reports summarizing the performance of each clinical trial
Works directly with the Clinical Operations vendor management function reviewing, applying and reconciling all vendor budgets, milestone allocations, and change orders/out of scope expenses
Monitor assigned areas for process improvement to ensure efficiency
Prepare and provide documentation for external and internal auditors on a timely basis
Special projects and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in the Life science / Pharmaceutical or biotech industry with clinical trial forecasting and accounting a must
Broad knowledge of accounting principles
Internal controls (SOX) understanding
Experience with large ERP systems, Oracle preferred
Ability to follow instructions for multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel, including V look ups and pivot tables)
