SUMMARY:

  • The Senior Design Engineer position is responsible for establishing technical specifications, developing product designs that meet those specifications, modeling and analyzing systems, and solving technical problems
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, or re-design new or existing productions of a moderate to complex nature through release, build, or validation process working from direct instruction and/ or requirements
  • Engineering generalist able to plan and conduct various engineering work assignments with instruction
  • Applies robust engineering practices to all assignments Works on unusual or complex problems with guidance
  • Define, interpret, and establish specifications using customer requirements, engineering calculations, or layouts
  • Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysisâ?¢Use original thinking and ingenuity to solve problems
  • Complete tasks related to new product development or field issue resolution
  • Produce engineering documentation such as 3-D models and assemblies, Production Assembly Drawings (PADs), part requirement drawings, etc.
  • Develop engineering bills of materials that are complete, accurate, and on-time
  • Effectively utilize computer-assisted engineering or design software to perform engineering tasks
  • Assign or approve work for CAD draftspersons, designers, technicians, or engineers ther
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General Bachelors(BS) degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required
  • 5 years of work experience in engineering or a related technical field required
  • Required engineering skills include both analytical and hands-on abilities
  • Consistent attention to detail Strong: Communication skills, verbal and written Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership attributes self-motivated with the ability to stay on task and prioritize workload
  • Creative and innovative team player Intermediate-level user in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CAD experience with emphasis on 2D and 3D; SolidWorks preferred
  • Ability to analyze and apply appropriate functional tolerances including use of Geometric
  • Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities
  • Willing to improve self / area / company (including pursing additional training, if needed)
  • Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to engineering work
  • Detail knowledge of Company and products Familiarity with robust engineering principles
  • Detail knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes and regulationsMechanical
  • Ability to analyze and apply appropriate functional tolerances including use of Geometric
  • Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required
  • Electrical Experience in automotive branch circuitry design.
  • Understanding of CAN protocol for J1939
  • Basic programming knowledge Experience in automotive harness design
  • Create and execute test plans Electrical troubleshooting knowledge required
