Job description: Title: SQL Server Developer Location: Chicago, IL Term: 6 months; possible right-to-hire Major Duties & Responsibilities: 70% Maintenance of Existing Applications 30% New Application Development Strong understanding of Data Types and Data Structures Ability to adjust ETL for different data sources Interpret business requirements and prepare detailed system specifications Deliver quality solutions on time and within budget, following SDLC best practices in the documentation of design specifications and unit test plans. Maintain documentation of the information solutions deployed. Requirements: 5+ years SQL Server Development experience 2012 or newer Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and performance related issues Bachelor\'s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or equivalent training/experience Demonstrated ability to collaborate with end users in gathering project requirements and in assisting with user testing Excellent written and verbal communications skills Desired Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training/experience Insurance/Financial Systems background, especially Actuarial Actuarial reserving experience or experience developing actuarial applications in the insurance industry
