Senior Oracle Developer Location: Bolingbrook, IL Duration: 12 months Job Description As a Senior Oracle Developer, they may develop new applications for database, or convert existing legacy applications to work with a database setup. They collect data, analyze the collected information, designs algorithms, draws flowcharts and then implements code for the logic developed through algorithms and flowcharts to support those applications. During the code development process of the Senior Oracle Developer has to develop appropriate queries that can help him to retrieve data from the database, look into the security issues of the data and develop structures, procedures and triggers. They also have to design Relational Database models and test the developed code with test data to make sure the code is error free. They should be able to work with the Database Architect/Engineer to make certain their code follows standards and fits into the overall long-term plan, whether working on an individual project or working on a modular part with other developers. Responsibilities: * Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems * Collaborate with internal customers, database engineer, management, and others to understand business or industry requirements * Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals, and projects * Organize work to meet deadlines and work independently * Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers * Develop data driven applications using PL/SQL and PERL * SQL performance tuning * Participate in application and database design * Participate in Agile/Scrum development process * Implement coding standards and best practices * Software testing/debugging * Off-hours support as needed * Other duties may be assigned REQUIREMENTS: * Knowledge and experience using SQL programming language with the ability to create PL/SQL queries required, stored procedures and functions * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail * Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems is highly desirable
