Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot network events and outages on equipment including:
IP routers, Ethernet switches, Optical Network Terminals (ONT), SONET/T1 multiplexors, DSL access mux, etc.
Operate in a 24 X 7 Network Operations Center; this includes an engineering on-call shift rotationUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, participating in online self-paced training .
Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the company.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Investigate, document and diagnose trouble calls to resolve service affecting issues across multiple service platforms including but not limited to DSL, T1, Carrier Ethernet and Internet services.
- Provides the highest level of technical escalation within the Repair NOCResponsible for developing material and training the Tier 1 & 2 staff to ensure continuous improvement.
- Liaison between implementation engineering and Core NOC to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develops process and procedure in an on-going effort to ensure problem management success.
- Trouble ticket management (create, resolve, escalate and manage through to resolution) including documenting progress in the company system.
- Carrier grade device management as needed for repair i.e. software/firmware upgrades, following maintenance procedures, and recovery tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, And SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Detail oriented, highly organized.
- Strong problem-solving skills.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary while on-call.Advanced knowledge of Ethernet and IP required.
- Successful candidate will have the skills necessary to troubleshoot layers 1-4 of the OSI Model.
- Hands on experience with Network Edge, Transport and Access technologies (SONET, DSL, GPON, Active Ethernet).
- Hands on experience with at least one of the following vendors platforms: Adtran, Ciena, Cisco, Calix, Telco Systems or Tellabs.Ability to create, test, document and follow processes.
