Responsibilities :

Create full mechanical drawing and documentation packages of products following the guidelines ASME Y14.5M and Y14.100MWork with project teams to perform conceptual designs for proposals .

Execute mechanical design and packaging of electro-mechanical componentsParticipate with electrical engineers and physicists to solve design challenges .

Conduct tolerance studies of assemblies and critical componentsPerform finite element analysis of designs using Solid works and/or ANSYSDesign fixtures for production assembly and test as necessary .

Support production with ECO\'s and sustaining activitiesWork with potential suppliers for quoting partsBuild, or assist in the building, of prototypes for functional testing, including soldering .

Vibration and shock testing and analysis of assembliesEstablish BOMS and maintain assemblies through ECOs

Qualifications:

RequiredBS or equivalent with 5-10 years or MS with 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering on mechanical packaging of electro-mechanical productsExtensive experience using Solid works .

Experience interfacing with Layout Design tools (PADS and Circuit works) for mechanical design and reviewU.S. Citizenship RequiredBroad engineering knowledge with an ability to troubleshoot and isolate problems within a complex systemKnowledge of materials and material processingSkilled in Presenting - can effectively communicate in large or small group settingsSkilled in Writing - can effectively write specifications and development documentsWorks well in a small team environmentSelf-motivated and independent workerMust be willing to travel for up to 1 week at a time, including international travelPreferredExperience using ANSYS for simulationKnowledge of PCB fabricationExperience in military packagingAbility to fabricate and modify components as needed for prototyping in machine shop
