SummaryAssist technical lead and project engineer in providing engineering support for product design and improvement.Designs equipment and products by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine possible design improvements.
  • Help determine feasibility of designing equipment or modifying existing equipment considering costs, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range product engineering planning.
  • Confers with research and other engineering personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop/modify designs as required.
  • Prepares product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Prepares and compiles necessary calculations to support product designsCompiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to help establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to help determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Coordinates design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates/updates to technical lead and project engineers.
  • Supports manufacturing and operations personnel with design and technical input of various machine systems in area of discipline.
  • Perform and or direct engineering duties and major sub tasks in area of discipline of moderate to high complexity for a project or projects.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

May act as lead on some projects and coordinate the work efforts of other engineers and designers.


Qualification Requirements :

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • The individual abides and ensures subordinates abide by established design practices and procedures to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • The individual has mastered and efficiently uses the necessary design tools as required for area of discipline.(Autocad 2D/3D, Solid Modeling, Finite Element Analysis, Promis-e, etc.)
  • The individual has mastered the application and integration design skills in area of discipline.
  • The individual must be an experienced and project proven design engineer that is capable of independent work.
  • Individual must have a diverse design experience on multiple systems or product lines in area of discipline.


EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE :

  • The individual must have a BS and 5-8 years experience, or a MS and 3-6 years experience.Bachelor\'s degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer SkillsAbility to use computer keyboards and screens to access information needed to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of general-purpose business software to include Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.Working knowledge of company custom software to include Dataworks, PDM, Track It, and Brio.
  • Working knowledge of general purpose engineering software relative to engineering group, such as CAD, Finite Element Analysis software and C++.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigon
