Job Description:
StandardCharacteristics
• Analyze user’srequirements, concept of operations documents, and high level systemarchitectures to develop system requirements specifications
• Analyze systemrequirements and leads design and development activities
• Guide users informulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conductsfeasibility studies
• Provide technicalleadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
• Incorporate newplans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
• Develop systemarchitecture and system design documentation
• Guide systemdevelopment and implementation planning through assessment or preparation ofsystem engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
• Interact with theGovernment regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and forassociated problems, issues or conflicts
• Responsible forthe technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with theSystems Engineering area of responsibility
• Communicate withother program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives

Capabilities andAdditional Requirements
• Plan, coordinateand manage engineering projects.
• Act as lead indefining and executing systems engineering activities within a project. Providecomprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis ofmission needs to verification of system performance.
• A senior systemengineer could support operations as needed. Ensure efficient delivery ofcontract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks,controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale,integrated projects.
• Review and/orapprove system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specificationsmeet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete.
• Establish andfollow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities amongmultiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
• Capture all interfacedesigns in a common interface control format, and store interface data in acommonly accessible repository.
• Establish aprocess to formally and proactively control and manage changes to requirements,consider impacts prior to commitment to change, gain stakeholder buy-in,eliminate ambiguity, ensure traceability to source requirements, and track andsettle open actions.
