JOB TITLE                                                   :           RN NURSE MANAGER

 TYPE: Full Time- 40 hours per week, day shift


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION                           :           PROVIDESNURSING LEADERSHIP IN BY:

                                                                                    Assessing,planning, implementing, and evaluating care

                                                                                    andmonitoring the development of a Plan of Care for each resident.  Supports goals and activities of the Nursingdepartment by performing quality assurance activities including audits andpromoting collaboration/teamwork.  Servesas a resource for community residents. Provides and ensures a home like environment that promotes quality oflife, security and wellness according to regulatory and department standards.

 

REPORTS TO                                             :           Director of Nursing or designee when the Director of Nursing is not available.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  & EXPERIENCE                                        :           Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Professional Nurse.  A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Health Services Administration is a plus.

 

                                                                                    Certification as an Infection Preventionist or willing to obtain certification upon hire.

 

A minimum of oneyear experience as a Nursing Supervisor where management skill competence has been demonstrated.   At least two years long-term care experience.

 

Demonstratesability to coordinate, supervise other RNs, LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants, and secretarial staff, maintain an even temperament in demanding situations, and display leadership, especially during emergency situations.

 

            Demonstrates ability to recognize, have compassion for, encourage and respect the residents capabilities and individuality. 

 

Demonstrates leadership skills; effective interpersonal, written and communication skills; proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel,and the Internet; and working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Department of

Healthregulations, and the Minimum Data Set (MDS). 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                             :           Stands, walks most of the shift.  Must be able to push, pull,

                                                                                    lift and transferresidents weighing 50 to 250 pounds. Able

                                                                                    towear gloves and other protective equipment. Capable of clearly communicating with residents.

 

CONTACTS                                                  :           Residents, physicians, Health Services staff and staff from other departments, as well asresidents families andvisitors.
