The candidate will be responsible for design and development of complex reports, dashboards, and cubes. The candidate will also provide technical support as required to supplement the operations and Tier2 support teams. The candidate will display a proficiency in development, maintenance and support of multiple core software systems within the development team product catalogue. | Duties: | Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of mission-critical enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports that utilize the underlying data store(s)/Data Warehouse(s)/Data mall/OLAP Cube. Working with cross-functional teams, you will participate to gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs and presentations as needed for the Senior Executive Team. Design and development of reporting structures (cubes, dashboards, metrics, filters, attributes), supporting new services, billing enhancements, and modifications. Support the successful execution of recurring scheduled reports. Produce new builds and deployments upon completion of development tasks. Support QA efforts, resolve issues and defects in a timely manner. Provides guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Mentor more junior team members to ensure they keep current with technological developments within the industry. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Work closely with the operations support team supporting the configuration, back office and customer service processes. Assist in the troubleshooting and assist in resolving complex system issues that may have a negative impact on revenue or customer perceptions. Communicate expectations clearly to resources to ensure that deliverables and deadlines are properly met Participates in meetings to recommend process improvements as development or customer needs dictate to enhance or maintain efficiencies for internal customers and reduce risk of revenue loss. Assists with the integration, documentation and launch of new product offering Participates in requirements gathering sessions to ensure the proper set up and use of backoffice systems Assist as necessary with user acceptance testing of the reporting systems as development is completed, before production roll out. Coach and provide training or suggestions as required Other activities as deemed necessary
| Qualifications: | Job Requirements: Thorough understanding of System Development Life Cycle Must demonstrate proficiency in administrating, developing and maintaining the Microstrategy components for the data warehouse implementation. Competency in development and tuning of SQL queries Excellent understanding of telecom OSS\BSS Understanding and familiarity of telecom back office, billing and revenue assurance Ability to Interact with various departments and management Strong architectural skills including strong understanding of data modeling, creation of all the basic Microstrategy objects (attributes, metrics, filters, transformations, consolidations, groupings, etc.), creation and maintenance of hierarchies. Also needs to be able to troubleshoot architectural issues when reports don’t give the correct results. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, multi task and review workloads to ensure the best use of resources - Must possess excellent organizational skills and thrive in a fast pace environment
Experience/Education Requirements: - 4 year degree in Business or computer science
- Minimum 5 years of experience in development and administration of Microstrategy solutions.
- Technical knowledge and experience in Telecommunications, BSS/OSS systems, preferably Oracle BRM
- Minimum 5 years of Software Development experience in the telecommunications industry.
- 2-3 years in ETL tools such as Informatica preferable
