Support the Payroll Department in administering the Company's payroll function for our Brooklyn, NY location.
Assist the Payroll Manager with high-level payroll tasks such as identifying and resolving payroll issues and tax-related issues, completing pre-audit and post-audit payroll reports, and completing the general day-to-day administration of the Company's payroll.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Process semi-monthly payroll and adjustment payroll runs.
Apply company policies and procedures during payroll processing.
Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
Receive and translate payroll file transfers.
Ensure all internal controls and procedures are followed.
Pre-audit and post-audit payroll reports following each payroll transmission.Identify, resolve, and/or escalate payroll issues as they arise.
Calculate figures and amounts for payroll adjustments.
Manage ad hoc queries ranging within our HRIS to supply reporting to Finance.
Monitor and report hours off of time clocks for Finance/DOL.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and ExperiencePosition Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent education.
Must be able to commute 1 (or more) days per week to Brooklyn, NY headquarters.
Four to six years experience in a similar role, or any comparable or appropriate combination of education and experience.
Experience in fast paced atmosphere and ability to handle multiple on-going projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
Strong familiarity with basic accounting principles.
Advanced skills within Microsoft Excel.
Experience navigating HRIS systems required.
Familiarity with Ceridian and/or ADP payroll platform, an asset.
