IT Scrum Master (Project Manager)
Loc: Indianapolis, IN
POSITION PURPOSE:
  • Supports the product owner, coaches the team, and makes sure that Scrum processes are adhered.
  • Oversees the Scrum process, its correct and continuous implementation, and the maximization of its benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Facilitates, coaches, and provides support to development teams and acts as a liaison to the customer.
  • Serves the team and product owner in turning requirements into working software.
  • Ensures that members of the project team understand the Scrum process, have the resources they need, are communicating well, and are shielded from distractions and interruptions.
  • Coaches the product owner to understand how to achieve the product goals and how to continually adapt and prioritize the project.
  • Provides guidance and assistance in solving issues and blockers for the development team.
  • Steers the development team through these issues, resolves any problems that are blocking the development, and involves those with the needed skills and experience.
  • Assists in facilitating changes by helping the product owner describe them, understanding their impact on the product, communicating them to the team, and prioritizing the changes in the project.
  • Takes the lead on resolving conflicts within the team removing any roadblocks to collaboration.
  • Tracks progress and helps the team achieve their commitments. Progress is monitored daily, and when problems are identified, works with team to develop corrective actions.
  • Manages and reports the status of scope, schedule, resourcing and financials. May help with scope definition, communication, budget oversight, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Information Technology, Project Management or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years related business analysis, project management and/or Scrum experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCESCRUM certification.
  • Training in Six Sigma processes.
