Role:Data Warehouse Engineer Loc: Overland Park, KS Job description POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Warehouse Engineer position reports to the IT Architecture and Analysis Manager.
This role Assists staff and line management from multiple business areas in requirement gathering, process mapping and documentation updates.
The incumbent will work with various levels of management and staff to explore and help specify system integrations, system requirements and workflow definitions.
Responsibilities may include working with various technical and business resources to explore and potentially solutions for each data warehousing and BI challenges.
The Data Warehouse Engineer communicates with multiple levels of end users and management.
This role requires the ability to make well informed technical decisions while working independently and in group settings.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge in data modeling and data architecture and is able to gather, understand and translate business issues into well-defined technical solutions.
The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking capabilities and will demonstrate strong analytical and collaboration skills.
The ability to work effectively with colleagues across numerous business units will allow this individual to be most effective. Prior experience developing processes in a start-up environment is desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identifies and coordinates issues, problems, enhancements or new functionality neededGathers high level and detailed information, proven experience liaising between multiple business lines, internal and external technology resources and risk mitigationModels data and predicts possible consequences of data aggregations, data dimensions and data normalizationPerforms data mapping and builds DB diagrams as well as relational diagrams
Possesses the ability to learn new systems, processes, controls and integration points, then translate into system and process maps
Work with various levels of management and staff to develop reports and analytics used to manage risk and attain benchmarks
Works on a variety of tickets concurrentlyMaximizes the customer experience while minimizing the cost of change
Travels occasionallyPerforms other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor\'s Degree in computer science or related field preferredA combination of education and experience in financial (credit card preferred) systems, training and /or support may substitute for degree
Minimum 5 years of experience that includes utilizing payment systems and technology.
Ability to design data maps for file import processes
Ability to be track data transformation from files to raw DB tables to normalized tables and up to data aggregated dimensions.
Knowledge and proven experience in VISIO, Sparx EA
Knowledge of Oracle SQL and structures , Oracle OLAP and Oracle Essbase
Knowledge of Data analysis, data structure, ETLsKnowledge in SDLC is required
Ability to comprehend and retain knowledge of banking/Credit Card products and terminology.
