This position is responsible for analysis, design, programming, testing and deployment of computer applications and systems for MWI Animal Health on the IBM System i/AS400 platform.
Works closely with business analyst and business unit leaders to design and maintain software that delivers efficiencies to MWI.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, program, test and document system modifications.
Programming Background in: IBM iSeries (AS400) RPG II, RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, CL required.
Development Tools:
Turnover, Aldon, PDM, SEU, RLU, RDA, PFE, Job Scheduler Excellent skill in SQL and query language.
Participate in the System Development Life Cycle process documenting requirements, creating functional specifications, creating design documentation, implementation and support.
Responsible for unit testing and development of test scripts Communicate with users of computer systems to ensure developed systems meet their needs and are performing properly.
Stay abreast of the latest developments of the IBM System i and remain highly technically competent.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and development requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Collaborate with business analyst and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Creates and executes project work plans and revises plans appropriately to meet changing needs and requirements.
Manages work scope and coordinates deliverables for assigned tasks and projects.
Perform special projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications Minimum Experience and Education :
Minimum of 5 years of relevant information technology experience, including IBM System i/AS400 technology and software applications and IBM System i/AS400 development tools.
Working experience with IBS ERP is preferred Working experience with Adobe Live Cycle Designer preferred.
Working experience with Turnover and Aldonis preferred.
A degree in computer science, management information systems, or business is preferred.
