Primary Purpose

  • Be part of the fastest growing business within, Global Non-Wovens.
  • The Non Wovens (NWT) business is a diverse global organization employing more than 600 people worldwide servicing its customer base with a direct sales force in all major industrialized countries,
  • With seven manufacturing locations and three science & technology centers located in the US and Europe.
  • The Supply Chain Leader provides functional leadership and support for the North America Non Wovens business as well as the Aiken manufacturing plant.
  • This person is an active member of the plant and business leadership team.
  • This role is responsible for creating best in class performance in the areas of production planning, supply management, warehousing, and shipping.
  • This person will evaluate the effectiveness of all processes, programs, and procedures within supply chain and sourcing and ensure the safety, quality, and productivity of these operations.
  • The Supply Chain Leader is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, improving the plant and business cost structure, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • The Supply Chain Leader maintains a leadership presence across the business to understand business needs, and engages department personnel in meeting those needs.
  • This person leads through standard work, visual tools and root cause problem solving.
  • This position is physically located in Aiken, SC.
REPORTS TO:

  • This position reports to the Aiken Plant Leader, with a dotted line to the business Supply Chain Director.
SPAN OF CONTROL:

  • This position directly leads a plant Warehouse Leader, Buyer, and Production Planner, and provides coaching and direction to the Supply Chain and Sourcing resources across the North America business.
Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Living the safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities
  • Adheres to, and continuously improves, all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensures a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and builds a culture where safety is a first priority
Directing Operations

  • Analyzes marketing forecasts and customer orders to obtain an accurate assessment of product demand
  • Coordinates plant production to service customer orders while minimizing product changes; monitors finished goods inventory levels to ensure compliance with established minimum and maximum authorizations
  • Coordinates the scheduling of production trials with relevant plant departments
  • Manages daily Warehouse and Shipping operations to ensure on-time and efficient delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Controls and maintains accurate records on all physical inventories; manages slow moving and obsolete inventories
  • Ensures the supply of all required materials in a cost effective and timely manner to meet production needs and customer expectations for quality
  • Controls logistic cost for transportation and warehouse leasing
  • Provides input on budget-labor, capital and facility improvements
  • Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and implements solutions accordingly to drive operation excellence of the department, better meet the needs of relevant stakeholders as well as mitigate risks that may disrupt production and negatively impact product quality
  • Leading Production Planning
  • Creates planned orders based on demand to include STOs, customer orders, etc.
  • Drills down into individual line requirements based on product mix and machine capability
  • Converts planned orders into production orders and ensures daily schedule attainment
  • Loads schedule work tables and displays a production schedule
  • Generates necessary reports to identify exceptions to include Production Order Checking
  • Develops monthly production schedules that are updated as needed based on product demand
  • Develops/Maintains systems to deal with exceptions
Supply Management

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with all suppliers to ensure supply security, service quality, and optimization of total cost
  • Manages the procurement of products and services, including the negotiation and management of associated contracts and agreements with responsibility for the timely delivery of quality products and services within budgeted cost targets
  • Accountable to establish, optimize, and deliver against working capital targets / goals while meeting customer demand
  • Develops and implements measurement systems to monitor the effectiveness of sourcing and inventory management processes for the overall accuracy of our processes
  • Continuously improves sourcing processes with the objective of minimizing back-office sourcing transaction costsProductivity Improvement
  • Continuously improves total costs by identifying and acting to capture cost reduction opportunities without jeopardizing security of supply while maintaining the goals of strategic supply planning
  • Drives productivity and innovationLeads Sourcing contribution to manufacturing productivity by working with suppliers, operations, and technology teams
  • Drives supplier sustainability effortsLeading and Developing TalentPlans and organizes the activities of the supply chain & sourcing department
  • Establishes clear and measurable performance expectations and holds team members accountable for delivering the goalsInvests in the growth and development of team members and others to achieve sustained success
  • Effectively staffs the department by leveraging the appropriate mix of internal and external talent to satisfy both near-term performance and long-term succession needs
  • Leading across the business Represents SC in the NWT Americas NLTCoordinates the WFM supply/demand planning across 3 plants (Aiken, Fort Smith and Fiberteq)
  • Assists the NWT global SC leader with the preparation of the NWT S&OP and with the Specialty Veil planning for NWT Americas (Aiken & Gastonia).
  • Shares best practices across plants, challenges thinking and provides candid and respectful feedback; sets an example of teamwork and partnership across the organization

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
Experience

  • Five or more years of leadership experience in supply chain or related field
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in using SAP
