Role: Payroll Manager

Location:Downtown Chicago

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data for corporate employees
  
• Uses DataFlex and MS Great Plains to produce accurate and timely payroll.
  
• Supervises payroll specialists in the department
  
• Oversees processing of weekly payrolls for 23,000+ employees
  
• Oversee processing of Garnishments
  
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  
• Works with outside vendors that interact with payroll processes ( tax vendor, WOTC Credit; pay stubs; W-2s)
  
• Maintains working relationships with payroll, accounting teams and branch office teams
  

Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting
  
• At least 3 years of payroll experience in the large multi-state company
  
• Prior supervisory experience with exceptional leadership skills
  
• Must have knowledge of tax reporting in multi-state setting
  
• Strong investigation and follow-up skills; attention to detail
  
• Comfortable working with IT professionals on system interface issues
  
• Experience with MS Office including Outlook and Excel
