Configuring & testing workforce management (WFM) software. Manage new WFM initiatives to support industry leading practices.
This individual would interact daily with the Operations Team and Store Directors to help them utilize the Kronos capabilities to achieve budgeted labor targets.
The person in this job would also help the Ops team and Store Teams get through the cultural change challenges to help with the adoption of new more efficient processes.
Create a strong partnership with the Ops team members that owns and influences Stores processes, including Ops VP, DM’s, Supervisors, Human Resources, Store Directors, and Department Managers.
This individual would have experience and understands the day to day challenges involved at store level in managing labor effectively.
Essential Job Functions:
Drive the annual retail payroll budget process to establish payroll budgets consistent with the company's financial goals and objectives (continues to identify labor percent, labor optimization, and productivity gains).
Share responsibility for achieving budgeted labor with Division Directors
Identify "Best Practices" for labor scheduling, productivity and payroll management for retail store management.
Develop a delivery method and implementation procedures to keep current and up- to- date.
Oversee industrial engineering resource (IE) (e.g., time and motion study, work measurement analysis, workflow analysis, trend analysis, work methods analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and cost accounting) in gathering and analyzing data pertinent to a project.
Review and utilize analytical output reports to identify productivity/payroll problems and opportunities. Deliver analysis results and recommendations to senior and retail management.
Utilize the output provided by IE to support continuous improvements in retail processes, staff requirements, FT/PT ratios, and standards.
Collaborate with vendors, IT and other business partners on future scheduling systems by creating requirements, assist with development efforts, configuration, user testing, training and training materials for pilots and deployments.
Monitor the maintenance of Labor Standards as business process evolves; current and near term priorities.
Validate workload assumptions as companies business process evolve
Models and analyzes changes to in store level processes and technology to optimize payroll and ensure that the labor model depicts workload requirements accurately.
Support Store Directors and the store team to ensure that Store team members are staffed to accomplish work at the right time in the right job.
Maintain and understand evolving and new scheduling processes and procedures with regard to the work that occurs in a typical Store.
Refresh and revise Labor Standards and Workload Budgeting to ensure realization of evolving and new process benefits.
Work with Store Ops on Labor Budgeting tasks and assist with the forecasting and budgeting challenges.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Knowledge of Store Level processes, ongoing workforce management challenges, and actual Store Operations Experience
Working Knowledge of a Workforce Management System for Retail Environment - how its set up and an understanding of how schedules are generated
Knowledge and experience with store budgeting numbers and reporting
Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders (Human Resources, Finance, Operations)
Analytical skills to monitor and react to trends
Strong communicator
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Desired Previous Job Experience:
Experience in retail operations, including stores and distribution centers
Experience with Workforce Management Software – Kronos preferred
5 years’ minimum experience in retail grocery industry
2- 3 years minimum Workforce Management experience
Ability and experience supervising and directing work and efforts of other Team Members
