JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES



The SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) system expert forms part of a team of consultants specialized in a functional area within the SAP Center of Expertise and is responsible for maintenance, optimization and roll-out of the respective functional processes and business applications software. The SAP SD system expert reports to the Global SAP Applications Manager.


 


The objectives of the SAP SD system expert include configuring the business applications software according to the functional requirements in the agreed timeframe following the corporate guidelines and, where applicable, providing the relevant information to other supporting functions such as the technical support, development and authorization teams.



 












KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES




  • Design, build, test and implement new functionality, changes and fixes within the business applications software (primarily SAP ECC) driving the standardization and maintenance of common business processes in the respective functional area of specialization and adhering to corporate guidelines.

  • Support the full application life cycle including final deployment, solution hyper-care, optimization, and knowledge transfer to business and Information Systems (IS) teams.

  • Define interfaces, forms and reports through functional specifications for the development team.

  • Define authorization and security requirements through functional specifications for the authorizations team.

  • Document changes and problem solutions through the creation and/or updating of process, customizing and end-user documentation.

  • Perform relevant IT testing activities (including unit/integration/regressive/security & performance testing) and support user acceptance testing.

  • Ensure appropriate qualification of business users through training (train-the-trainer principle).

  • Perform regular business applications quality audits within Biomet.

  • Gather requirements via Workshops and Solution Design with SAP business applications as enabler.

  • Configure key reports supporting decision making of middle/upper management.

  • Ensure compliance with Governmental, Corporate, SBU and departmental regulations, policies, standards, and procedures within the process area.

  • Maintain a close relationship with the business relationship management teams representing the IT supply side (in alignment with the internal IT Supply & Demand organization) and other Centers of Expertise in the IT organization.

  • Ensure that issues/helpdesk messages within the process area, are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.



 












REQUIREMENTS



 Education:



  • Minimum BS degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Information Technologies or a related business discipline.

  • SAP certified in the applicable disciplines and technologies.


Work Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years information system-related experience in the applicable SAP disciplines and technologies, preferably IT consulting background within a global environment.


Other Experience:



  • Feasibility studies and/or impact analysis; business analysis & process mapping.

  • Experience in medical device or similarly regulated industry a plus.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices.

  • Proficient use of SAP R/3 and other SAP business applications.

  • Soft skills to manage and lead a team.

  • Excellent presentation skills and outstanding individual performance.

  • Quick to learn, implement and modify new methodologies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interfacing with users and other stakeholders.

  • Fluent spoken and written English.

  • SAP implementation projects and (IT) project methodologies.



  • Software development lifecycle methodologies.

  • Software validation in regulated industries such as the medical device industry.
