Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in leading Supply Chain: Logistics & Manufacturing; purchasing, inventory planning, operations, retail, consulting and/or finance, with a history of owning/driving results
  • Bachelors degree in business, Supply Chain or Operations
  • Excellent managerial and training skills
  • Highly analytical, capable of turning raw data into information and insights.
  • Strong proficiency in analytical tools including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistical software
  • Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done

Responsibilities

  • The Supply Chain Manager creates and maintains forecast models for product lines and/or customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources
  • The selected candidate will lead their team and will oversee the development, communication and attainment of inventory financial plans and goals
  • The Supply Chain Manager is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization
  • Basic forecast modeling is the responsibility of this position
  • This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing
  • You will get to define processes, build scalable systems and deliver solutions to the organization and its customers
  • Develop Business Processes and serve as subject-matter expert for improvements
  • Work with Operations to develop strategies that improve customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction as it relates to Planning, Purchasing, Supply Planning, and Production Scheduling activities with team and all stakeholders
  • Perform multi-site and multi-level planning to ensure supply from suppliers and internal sites to achieve optimum service level objectives
  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Analyze demand regularly and identify inconsistencies and data with forecasts vs. actual sales
  • Manage and ensure optimum standard and safety stock inventory levels are maintained based on material criticality, lead time, and frequency of use
  • Maintain materials lifecycle status in ERP (i.e., create, update, obsolete)
  • Provide supply chain visibility to the sales and marketing teams; In situations where the demand exceeds supply, discuss, and align with the internal teams
  • Facilitate development and execution of accurate and data-based supply/demand forecasting to enable capacity planning, inventory target setting, and performance reporting
  • Develop and standardize global metrics to KPIs, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data driven decision making
  • Manage programs for the Supply Chain Planning team in the development of constantly evolving strategies
  • Managing all SKUs through the entire supply chain and communicate disruptions in product availability to Senior Management
  • Leading/participating in multidisciplinary teams to resolve manufacturing/supply issues
  • Collaborate with Accounting & Fulfillment Manager on inventory reconciliation and adjustments
  • Drive proactive supply optimization strategies that reduce inventory holding and increase service levels
  • Track and improve ocean vs air split for inbound logistics
  • Own several highly visible processes and deliver updates to executive stakeholders
  • Monitor business performance across relevant KPIs and conduct deep dive investigations to understand the why - behind how metrics are performing
  • Perform ad hoc strategy, research, modeling, and analytics projects to help guide decision making in a constantly evolving industry
  • Be a strong project and stakeholder manager with the ability to execute projects of varying urgency and scope with minimal guidance
