Job Summary

As our Director of Supply Chain Planning, you will be responsible for defining and executing a Supply Chain Plan that aligns with our company’s strategic direction. Defining this plan will include centering on minimizing risk, while enabling growth, is sustainable and cost-conscious, seeking to improve quality, and is focused on enabling a responsive supply chain.

This role will develop and oversee the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by working with the Supply Chain team to develop key supply processes, responsible for working with all key stakeholders to prepare forecasts and demand plans, manage inventories, and execute production orders for raw materials, intermediates and finished goods for all commercial products. Additionally, this role will be responsible for supply-chain management of multiple, high-profile change-based projects and new product introductions, affecting the Supply Chain under tight timelines.

Doing all this requires a unique skill set. You must be a self-starter, flexible thinker, an outstanding communicator, and comfortable working cross-functionally. You must possess an ability to assess the big picture and understand the implications that all decisions will have from a manufacturing and delivery perspective. Ability to ‘story-tell’ to provide clarity and simplicity to ambiguous and complex business scenarios. An influencer that works across multiple teams and across multiple functions. Results will be dependent on your ability to quickly form both professional and personal relationships with colleagues and lead a highly motivated and skilled team to drive to rigorous, well-communicated deliverables.

IMPACT/SUCCESS MEASURES: The performance of the position will be measured against cross-functional goals. Key metrics include:

  • Overall quantified business benefit of the S&OP process before and after implementation. This can be improved profitability, revenue, inventory and/or service.
  • Process maturity across different parts of the organization through an assessment of the current state.
  • Successful project implementation (time, cost, benefit) to improve the process and embed it across the different business units and geographies.
  • Outcome and health of the Supply Chain Planning through sharing best practices and alignment on top projects and targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, implement and maintain a global end-to-end supply chain planning strategy and the global inventory strategy
  • Set departmental goals that engage and align with strategic direction
  • Own and continuously improve the global Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Develop business scenario plans and modeling to enable demand creation, channel allocations, supply chain, and financial investment decision-making.
  • Key interface between operations and financial planning, driving cross-functional collaboration and process development
  • Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches, line extensions, product discontinuations, promotions and events. Demonstrate sound business decision-making aligned with company goals
  • Key participant representing supply chain operations in the annual long-range planning process
  • Own business reporting regarding performance to key supply chain planning KPIs
  • Leverage best-in-class technology to effectively plan, manage and control the end-to-end supply chain to align commercial, financial and operational plans
  • Optimize inventory-related working capital and cash flow
  • Provide leadership that inspires and motivates others to act as a High Performing Team: customer experience focused, collaborative and relentlessly progressive

  • Executive level

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Operations Management
  • APICS, ASCM, ASQ, or APS certifications or equivalent required
  • 8-10 years of experience leading a global supply chain planning or operations organization
  • Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Ability to effectively facilitate change and drive continuous process improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving and collaborative environment, with an aptitude for managing time and shifting priorities.
  • Results-focused with outstanding analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate, lead and influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with SAP preferred, supply chain planning systems and Microsoft Excel
  • 15% Travel required
