Job Description:

Client is seeking a Security Software Developer to join our Engineering Research & Development team. Client specializes in developing innovative solutions incorporating state-of-the-art capabilities for the US DoD. Our high-performance systems are used in applications such as Battle Management Command and Control, Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence and Secure Digital Communications. The ideal candidate should have experience in the following domains: strategic communications, tactical communications, electronic warfare (EW) and signals intelligence (SIGINT). In this role, you will apply your technical knowledge of writing software and combine it with security threat analysis and product development. We are seeking candidates with proven abilities in developing innovative solutions who are particularly interested in working on state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare capabilities to meet United States Dept of Defense (DoD) needs.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Experience in the cybersecurity field. Either as a cybersecurity engineer, cybersecurity consultant, or network security engineer.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting classified DoE, DoD and IC customers at all levels of classification.
  • Awareness of DISA STIGs, SCAP scans, ACAS vulnerability scanner, and AF Ports, Protocols, Services process, and other utilities (NESSUS, etc).
  • Experience in the preparation of RMF documentation to attain IATT/ATO.
  • Technical knowledge of cross domain solutions and guards (CDS/CDG) and the experience to work hand in hand with other teams to develop a solution.
  • 5+ years of experience with Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) policy development and analysis.
  • Proficient in problem solving and rapid prototyping for proof of concept projects.
  • Experience with tracking and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with repository and version control tools (Subversion, GitLab)
  • Experience developing software using the Agile/Scrum methodology and tools.
  • Experience with various COTS cyber security tools.
  • Experience with VMware and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong academic training in Computer Science fundamentals.
  • Stellar communication skills (both technical details and high-level conceptual ideas).
  • Enjoys collaborating with small and dedicated development teams.
  • US Citizen with active DoD TOP SECRET clearance or interim SECRET clearance.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • SME level knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, SELinux development, RPM package creation, and kernel driver support.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification. *Security + CE *SSCP *GSEC *CISSP *CISA *CASP
  • TS/SCI Clearance with CI/Full Scope Poly.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Provide Certification & Accreditation (C&A) support in compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Network Architect.
  • Combine your technical knowledge of writing software with security threat analysis and product development.
  • Help to design and implement new features within an agile development environment.
  • Leverage the existing technology stack and investigate emerging technologies to ensure methods/practices/strategies are up-to-date.
  • Optimize and increase performance of code while debugging, investigating, and fixing bugs.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code-base quality and awareness.

Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other technical degree. MS preferred.
