Director of System Engineering, Loc: Washington, DC
Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Leading engagements with federal customers to support acquisition and management of major Information Technology (IT) programs. He or she will serve as a Subject Matter Expert on program management, system architecture and information management. He or she will be responsible for a wide set of engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle such as Concept of Operations, gap analysis, analysis of alternatives, project schedule and cost management.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across a federal agency to ensure program alignment with appropriate information governance frameworks. He or she will participant in intra and inter-agency forums such as communities of practitioners to achieve the agency's information management objectives.
- Providing technical leadership to client's system engineering team. He or she will assist in recruiting new system engineering resources and mentoring other team members to prompt best system engineering practices.
- Supporting new business pursuits to include all phases of business campaigns and proposal processes, may serve as a capture manager, proposal lead or solution architect for new pursuits.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree
- 10 plus years relevant work experience. At least five (5) years supporting a major IT program of the federal government
- Experience in the aviation and knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems
- Leadership experience in prioritizing, planning, and successfully delivering multiple projects
- Expert knowledge of federal contracting and acquisition process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audience
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as FEAF and DODAF
- Knowledge of information management and system integration approaches and technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), API Management, XML and JSON
- Knowledge of geospatial systems.
